Donating Your
Wedding Gown
In the U.S. consider donating your wedding gown to WishUponaWedding.org, a non-profit that grants expenses for weddings and vow renewals to couples facing serious illness or life-altering health circumstances. They accept wedding party dresses and other specialty gowns, too, and all proceeds from gown sales at their partner site WishUponaDress.com go to fund events for wedding-wish recipients. Brides Across America accepts cash donation to fund the purchase of wedding gowns for military women. There is also Fairytale Brides for women on a budget in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia, and proceeds go to select charities. In Australia you may donate to the Angel Gown Program or the Salvation Army.
Selling Your
Wedding Gown
The international website PreOwnedWeddingDresses.com offers a very helpful calculator for estimating the value of your wedding gown. For a nominal one-time fee (and no commission on the sale), you can list your wedding dress for as long as you like on this website. For a very useful discussion of how to sell your wedding gown or how to donate your wedding gown, visit Where to Sell Your Wedding Dress: What You Need to Know,
You can Google “vintage wedding dress sales,” too. For local consignment shops, Google “wedding gown consignment shops.” In Australia, StillWhite.com.au is also a good place to sell your wedding gown online. Places in Australia where you may donate your gown are the Angel Gown Program, Australia’s first supplier of baby and children’s burial gowns, or to The Salvation Army.
