Tanayia’s Wedding Dress Preservation in Connecticut
We are excited to announce the launch of our new blogging series called “Real Bride Spotlight”, which features real brides who have chosen to get their beautiful wedding gowns cleaned, preserved or restored by one of our Certified Wedding Gown Specialists™.
Kicking off this series is real bride Tanayia Woolery, who had an incredible destination wedding in Jamaica. She actually wore two gowns for her wedding–she got married in a traditional ivory ballgown, then changed into a stunningly gorgeous Jenny Packham gown for the reception. Read our Q&A with her below!

When was your wedding and where did it take place?
Our wedding was June 30, 2012, and we decided on a destination wedding in Boscobel, Jamaica. We had the wedding at Golden Cove Villas, which is where we stayed along with the majority of our guests! We decided on Jamaica as the perfect location for our wedding because my husband Andre’s family is from there.
What is your absolute favorite memory from your wedding day?
One of my favorite moments was putting on my wedding dress. It was my second dress, but the one I loved the most. The dress was my dream dress. After I put it on we took pictures with just the two of us then entered the reception. My first dress was the dress I got married in but the second dress was the dress I was a wife in for the first time.
Why did you decide to get your gown preserved?
I wanted my dress cleaned because it is an amazing dress that I want to keep in my family forever. It is an heirloom that marks the beginning of my future family.
Tanayia’s dress and veil were carefully packed in an archival museum-quality chest and lined with acid free tissue paper by a Certified Wedding Gown Specialist.
