Shingi’s Wedding Gown Preservation in Minnesota
Bride Shingirai had an absolutely fabulous destination wedding at a game lodge in Zimbabwe. Read more about her wedding in our Q&A below!
When was your wedding and where did it take place?
We got married on August 24, 2014 at the Wild Geese Lodge in Zimbabwe, Africa. It was a beautiful event filled with love, family and friends and there is no where else in the world I could have imagined having my wedding.
When did you know that your wedding gown was “the one”?
I knew that this Enzoani gown was the perfect one for me the moment I put it on–it fit perfectly and was so easy to imagine walking down the aisle in it.
What is your absolute favorite memory from your wedding day?
My favorite moment was during our ceremony in the church–my husband and I were both excited and a little nervous–so much so that we forgot our lines!
Why did you decide to get your gown cleaned and preserved?
My husband actually specifically asked me to preserve the gown–he thought it was so beautiful and wanted me to keep it as a memory.
Why did you decide to get your gown cleaned by a member of the Association of Wedding Gown Specialists?
I originally brought my gown to a regular dry cleaners, but they had said they were unable to clean it properly without destroying some of the details. So I did some more research and found that Wedding Gown Care Specialist (servicing the Minneapolis/St.Paul area in Minnesota) was the premier local expert in all things wedding gowns. They expertly cared for my wedding gown both in the cleaning and preservation process.
