Rosibel’s Wedding Dress Preservation in New Jersey
Best friends share many things in life like laughs, good times, secrets, hopes and dreams. In Rosibel’s case, wearing her bestie’s wedding dress was part of their life-long bond as well! Read more about her wedding and very meaningful wedding dress in our Q&A below!
When and where did your wedding take place?
My wedding was on November 10, 2013. We got married in Tarrytown, NY at the Castle Hotel & Spa.
How long did it take you to plan your wedding?
Our engagement was unforgettable–he proposed to me on a gondola in Venice, Italy! It was so incredibly romantic and the absolute perfect engagement. We were engaged for about 14 months before the wedding and it took me one full year to plan it.
When did you know that your wedding dress was “the one”?
The dress is a Paloma Bianca and it was actually a gift from my best friend Agatha. She wore the dress for her wedding one year earlier and looked so beautiful in it. When she so kindly offered it to me, I went to pick it up at her house and couldn’t WAIT to try it on. I rushed home, tried it on…and it was love at first sight! It was sort of like Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants–she’s 5’8 and I’m 5’3, but the dress fit both of us perfectly (she skipped wearing heels for her wedding and I wore heels for mine). I couldn’t imagine getting married in anything else 🙂
What is your absolute favorite memory from your wedding day?
Everything happened according to plan or exceeded my expectations. I was a very happy bride! I loved walking down the aisle and seeing the joy on my husband’s face. I loved the reception and danced all night! I didn’t eat or drink anything the whole time–I was so wrapped up in enjoying and savoring every moment that I simply forgot. Anyone who wanted to chat had to join me on the dance floor! Luckily my husband took care of entertaining guests who weren’t on the dance floor with me.
Why did you want to get your wedding dress cleaned and preserved?
I wanted to ensure the gown was taken care of because it has such special meaning to me and my best friend. She has wonderful memories of dancing in this dress with her mom (who passed away last October) and her dad. And now I too have wonderful memories of dancing in this beautiful dress with my mom, dad and stepmom (who is very ill). I hope I can pass the joy of owning this dress to someone else in the future.
Why did you decide to get your wedding gown cleaned and preserved by a member of the Association of Wedding Gown Specialists?
I did a search for wedding gown preservation in New Jersey on TheKnot and Moline Kronberg was the number one choice with glowing recommendations. I trusted that they would give my dress the wonderful care it deserved!
