Morgan’s Wedding Gown Preservation in Ohio
Bride Morgan always saw herself walking down the aisle in traditional dress with straps or even sleeves until she found a beautiful Stella York gown that she says was made for her! Read more about her story and see her beautiful wedding day in our Q&A below!
When was your wedding and where did it take place?
Sean and I were married on August 1, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church in Luckey, Ohio with the reception following at Graystone Banquet Hall in Perrysburg, Ohio.
When did you know that your wedding gown was “the one”?
In my search for “the one” I was convinced I wanted a more classic or traditional style gown with lace and nothing flashy. I was interested in simplistic A-line dresses with straps and possibly even sleeves. I tried on dress after dress and it wasn’t until a very patient bridal salon staff member brought in the perfect dress. She brought me out of my comfort zone and convinced me that a strapless cut was the style for me; she couldn’t have been more right!
This Stella York gown had the traditional lace and elegant style I was looking for, but with a modern twist, which simply blew me away. The semi-sweetheart princess style fit me perfectly and I even chose the petal pink color with the ivory tulle overlay and corset backing! I received so many compliments on my gown-as I’m sure every bride does-but even my vendors were commenting on its unique style—it was simply made for me.
What is your absolute favorite memory from your wedding day?
By far, my absolute favorite memory was standing in the front of my hometown church, full of people I love, while looking into the loving eyes of my husband as we became one family. It was truly one of the best moments of my life.
We also started the tradition of “cutting the cheeseball” at our reception, which was such a fun and memorable time that meant a lot to me after the recent loss of my dad.
Why did you want to get your wedding gown cleaned and preserved?
I fell even more in love with this dress after wearing it on my wedding day, and I wanted to keep it for years to come. I would love to share this gown with my future children and maybe even try it on again one day for a special anniversary.
Why did you decide to get your gown cleaned by a member of the Association of Wedding Gown Specialists?
I chose to get my gown cleaned and preserved by Kimmel’s Wedding Gowns because of their outstanding online reviews and recommendations. I knew I wanted an archival presentation and a professional cleaning that would protect my dress. I contacted Kathy by email and within a few hours she called and gave me a quote over the phone along with describing the process at length. We live about an hour and a half away from their shop, but Kathy was so flexible about meeting with us, even at odd hours. I am so glad I went with Kimmel’s Wedding Gowns!
