Laura’s Gown Preservation in Connecticut
Bride Laura is one of the lucky brides who was able to try on her mother’s wedding gown as a young girl. Because she wants her future daughter to have the same experience, she trusted Orange Restoration Labs in Orange, CT to expertly clean and preserve her wedding gown after her June wedding. Read more about her wedding and dress below!
When was your wedding and where did it take place?
We were married on June 26th, 2015 at the New Haven Lawn Club in New Haven, Connecticut. It was an absolutely gorgeous day!
When did you know that your wedding gown was “the one”?
I purchased my Hayley Paige gown, Sheridan, at White Dress by the Shore in Clinton, CT. I knew the gown was “the one” when I first put it on–it was so different from all the other styles. It was lightweight, elegant and very feminine. The reactions from my mom and sister (who were with me when I tried it on) helped seal the deal! I was worried about the fit of the gown for a long time, but the amazing tailor at White Dress was able to work her magic and make it perfect.
What is your absolute favorite memory from your wedding day?
My favorite memory is when dessert was served–all of our guests were out on the dance floor, so my husband and I sat together to eat cake and watch everyone we loved have a great time. Eventually we joined everyone on the dance floor, but it was the perfect time to stop and really cherish the moment.
Why did you want to get your wedding gown cleaned and preserved?
When I was a little girl, I was lucky enough to try on my mother’s wedding dress, who had saved it from her own wedding. That was an experience I always remembered, so I would love the opportunity for my future daughter to do the same thing!
Why did you decide to get your gown cleaned by a member of the Association of Wedding Gown Specialists?
Orange Restoration Labs came highly recommeded to me by a friend. I wanted to make sure that my gown was in the care of someone like Sally, who is an expert in all things wedding gowns!
