Kimberly’s Wedding Gown Cleaning in Alberta
Bride Kimberly had her destination elopement in the Moab Desert in Utah and planned it all in just two weeks! Read more about her wedding in our Q&A below.
When was your wedding and where did it take place?
We got married on April 3, 2014 at the Double Arch in the Arches National Park in Moab, Utah.
How long did it take you to plan your wedding?
Believe it or not, we planned the entire wedding in two weeks (you read that correctly!). We eloped and did not tell anyone–not even our friends who ended up being our witnesses! We sprung the news on them on April Fools Day 🙂
When did you know that your gown was “the one”?
I didn’t have the big teary moment like you see on TV when I found my dress–I simply chose it because it was the one that fit! I got the dress from David’s Bridal and I will say, I absolutely loved my dress on my wedding day. The way it shimmered in the sun with the desert landscape in the background was perfect.
What is your absolute favorite memory from your wedding day?
The look on my husband’s face when he first saw me in my dress–it was priceless!
Why did you want to get your wedding gown cleaned?
I actually had my gown cleaned before the wedding. Because the dress was off the rack, it had lots of makeup stains and a distinct odor so when I asked the shop about getting the gown cleaned, they said I would have to do it at my own cost.
Why did you decide to get your gown cleaned by a member of the Association of Wedding Gown Specialists?
I searched for reviews for wedding gown cleaners in my area and DryCleaning by Dave was rated number one. They had a convenient location in town and they had amazing customer service. I dropped the dress off at another location and they delivered it to my town for pick-up. Best of all, this was all coordinated over a weekend after hours…AMAZING!! I haven’t gotten my dress preserved yet because we plan on having a reception at some point, so I am thrilled that I will get to wear it again 🙂 But I will definitely be going back to DryCleaning by Dave for their preservation service.
