Jenny’s Wedding Gown Cleaning in Nebraska
Jenny had a fairytale experience when she found her perfect Winnie Couture wedding dress for her November nuptials. Read more about her wedding and dress below!
When was your wedding and where did it take place?
Jeremy and I got married on November 9, 2013 at the Morning Star Lutheran Church. Our reception followed at the Marriott Regency in Omaha, Nebraska.
How long did it take you to plan your wedding?
We got engaged almost exactly one year earlier, so wasted no time in booking our most important vendors (Church, venue, photographer, etc.) within the first 2 months of our engagemnet. It was so nice getting these major things booked at the beginning because we had no issues getting the vendors we wanted for our wedding date. It also made the rest of our wedding planning a breeze!
Where did you purchase your wedding gown?
I got my Winnie Couture wedding dress at My Blue Whimsy in Fremont, Nebraska. The owner Lisa was fantastic and made the entire dress experience like a fairytale!
When did you know that your wedding dress was “the one”?
My mom, sister and I had visited several other bridal salons and nothing jumped out at us. Our last stop was to My Blue Whimsy and I immediately fell in love with the store and Lisa. I had probably tried on 10 dresses that night and the last one I put on was my Winnie Couture dress. The ones prior were all pretty–I could easily see myself wearing any one of them on my wedding day. But when Lisa zipped me up in this dress, it felt magical. I knew my instinct was right when I walked out of the dressing room and my mom and sister both reached for a Kleenex! I felt so confident and beautiful in it and most importantly, very comfortable. I knew I would easily be able to dance and enjoy myself on my wedding day. I walked out and my sister shouted, “We’re done! This is the one!” I went home to sleep on the decision for a few days…then came back a week later to buy the dress!
What is your absolute favorite memory from your wedding day?
Ah, what a tough question! I look back on my entire wedding day as a fabulous day. The overwhelming love we felt from our friends and family is something that is impossible to put into words. Jeremy and I did not see each other before the wedding and wanted to do the traditional first viewing as I walked down the aisle. That was a very special moment for us. We also spent about an hour taking photographs at a lake with just the two of us. That experience really gave us the opportunity to talk, laugh and share every feeling we had felt that day. I didn’t realize at the time how special that hour was–we have some amazing photographs from that time that capture the immense love and giddiness we felt for one another.
Why did you want to get your wedding gown cleaned and preserved?
I got my gown cleaned because it really is a work of art in my eyes. Kim Wehrbein at Omaha Lace Cleaners altered the dress so that it fit me perfectly. I fell more in love with the dress with each alterations appointment. It was important for me to get it cleaned because I now have it displayed in my “Get Ready” room at home. Every time I see the dress I am reminded of how fantastic and special I felt on my wedding day and how blessed I am to have married the man of my dreams.
Why did you decide to get your wedding dress cleaned by a member of the Association of Wedding Gown Specialists?
It was important for me to have my dress cleaned by people I could trust. Omaha Lace Cleaners has a fantastic reputation in Omaha and is a group of wonderful people that I had grown close to during my alterations. I would recommend Omaha Lace Cleaners to all brides looking for a wonderful, professional experience!
