Jenna’s Wedding Gown Preservation in Texas
Bride Jenna and her husband Richie knew what they wanted for their October nuptials right from the beginning–in fact, they started planning their dream wedding 4 months before they were even engaged! Read more about their wedding and how Kite’s Wedding Gown Specialists in Fort Worth, TX expertly cleaned and preserved her gown!
When was your wedding and where did it take place?
Richie and I got married on October 11, 2014 at the Arborlawn United Methodist Church in Fort Worth, TX. We had the ceremony at Doss Heritage and Culture Center in Weatherford, TX.
How long were you two engaged?
We were engaged for 7 months before the wedding, but actually started planning the wedding 4 months before we were engaged. We knew we were going to get engaged so we figured we’d get a head start on the planning!
When did you know that your dress was “the one”?
I took my mother and maid of honor dress shopping with me one day and in the midst of trying on several dresses, my MOH came into the fitting room with a gown saying that my mom was in love with it and really wanted me to try it on. I initially didn’t like it at all (totally wasn’t my style) so I refused. My mom came in and begged me to try it on–she really, really wanted to see how it would look on me. I finally caved and tried it on to make her happy. To my shock and surprise, when I came out of the dressing room I instantly knew it was the one! As the saying goes “mother knows best”!
What is your absolute favorite memory from your wedding day?
My favorite memory of the wedding day was the ceremony itself. From the moment I walked up the aisle and Richie took my hands in his, we couldn’t tear our eyes away from each other. We waited patiently for those few moments and were completely present and living in the moment. Each and every word from our pastor was personal to us and the sentiments shared by him and our groomsman (who read the scripture) were heartfelt and moving. The emotions in those few minutes were the most immensely overwhelming feelings I’ve ever had in my entire life.
Why did you want to get your gown cleaned and preserved?
I wanted to clean and preserve the gown because it means so much to me. It was not just a white dress I wore one day. It was the priceless garment I wore that made me feel beyond beautiful while marrying the man of my dreams. I want to preserve it for sentimental reasons and if I have a daughter one day, I would love for her to be able to wear it or use parts of it to create her own style of wedding dress. In fact, I am having my mom’s wedding dress cleaned and preserved (I wore it during our final dance and send-off) so that I can wear it in the future for one of our anniversaries.
Why did you decide to get your gown cleaned by a member of the Association of Wedding Gown Specialists?
I had an amazing experience with Tammy and the rest of the Kite’s Wedding Gown Specialists group. From my initial interaction with them in having my wedding dress tailored and cleaned to bringing it back to them after the wedding to clean and preserve the gown, I knew I could trust them to give my gown the excellent care it deserved!
