Bride Jana trusted Kimmel Wedding Gowns, headquartered in Upper Sandusky, Ohio to clean and preserve her extraordinary Mon Cheri gown for her wedding in Bucyrus, Ohio this past September. Read more about her wedding and dress in our Q&A below!
When was your wedding and where did it take place?
We were married on September 5, 2015 at the First Presbyterian Church in Bucyrus, Ohio, followed by a private, outdoor reception, overlooking a lake in Upper Sandusky, Ohio.
When did you know that your wedding gown was “the one”?
I knew my ruched and ruffled gown, a Mon Cheri, designed by Tony Bowls, was “the one” when I kept pulling out handfuls and handfuls of floral ruffles from the rack where it was hanging. I remembered asking myself, “Is this all the same dress?” Then I knew; it portrayed us perfectly. Dave is the fun and unexpected one, reflected in the abundant, fun ruffles of the gown. I am more the expected and elegant one, reflected in the picture-perfect, bodice ruching. I chose a wedding gown that best portrayed our personalities and, of course, the absolute beauty of the dress!
What is your absolute favorite memory from your wedding day?
My favorite memory was having fun at the reception, when Dave and I took a break from the celebration to flop in the grass and relax—just me and him.
Why did you want to get your wedding gown cleaned and preserved?
I wanted to get the proper care I knew Kathy at Kimmel Wedding Gowns could provide for my dress because I would love to wear it again for a 5 year celebration!
Why did you decide to get your gown cleaned by a member of the Association of Wedding Gown Specialists?
I got my gown cleaned by Kimmel Wedding Gowns because I knew they would be able to best clean and preserve my gown to make it look new again—for the next time I will wear it!
