Carolina’s Wedding Gown Preservation in Connecticut

Carolina’s Wedding Gown Preservation in Connecticut

Carolina had a beautiful church wedding ceremony followed by a luxurious reception at a harbor club. The excitement of the day took its toll on her gorgeous, strapless, and figure-fitting wedding gown but luckily, Sally of Orange Restoration Labs in Connecticut was able to clean the gown to pristine condition and preserve it for many, many more years to come. Read our interview with Carolina to find out more!

When did you know that your gown was “the one”?

I originally tried on “the dress” at another bridal gown boutique. I wasn’t in love, but my mom and the rest of the family were head over heels. I then started looking into Matthew Christopher gowns and I made an appointment at their salon in the city. I went, and they pulled various dresses–including the one I had already tried on at the previous boutique.
Because I personally didn’t really like that dress, I said no; but, they insisted I try it on again, so I did, and after having tried on others, I tried it on yet again, and I instantly fell in love, finally seeing what my mother and cousins had seen all along. I loved the way it fit and the way it made me look beautiful, I felt overwhelmed with happiness and knew it was the one.

What is your absolute favorite memory from your wedding day?
My husband had a surprise performance for me: he performed a Kanye West song as soon as we walked into the reception.

Why did you want to get the gown cleaned and preserved?

I just want to preserve it and keep it for memories.

What made the wedding ceremony feel extra special?
The wedding ceremony was celebrated by the same priest who celebrated my parent’s 25th wedding anniversary, it was very special to me.

Why did you decide to get the gown cleaned by a member of the Association of Wedding Gown Specialists?
I wanted to make sure my gown was going to be taken care of with delicacy and I knew I wanted to go to someone with extensive experience.
