Caitlin’s Wedding Dress Cleaning in Alabama
Bride Caitlin was all smiles when she found her wedding gown, and evidently, she made the right choice–her fiance’s jaw dropped when he saw her during their first look! Read more about her wedding and gown below.
When was your wedding and where did it take place?
Drew and I got married on March 22nd, 2014 at Black Fox Farms in Cleveland, Tennessee.
How long was your engagement?
We were engaged for 11 months–he proposed back in April 2013 on our 5 year anniversary. I started planning the wedding pretty much immediately–we actually booked our venue only two weeks later!
When did you know that your wedding dress was “the one”?
I purchased my wedding dress from Monica’s Bridal in Chattanooga, Tennessee. I had planned for a whole day of dress shopping with my bridesmaids, mom and grandma, so Monica’s was our first stop. We looked around, pulled some dresses we liked and I explained my vision to the bridal consultant. She started pulling dresses as well, so most of the time spent there was trying on multiple dresses. But even after trying them all on, I kept coming back to this one particular gown from the Mori Lee BLU line. I really liked it–so much so that every time I put it on, I couldn’t stop smiling.
We ended up leaving the shop to have lunch and look at dresses at another bridal salon, but I couldn’t stop thinking about that one dress. So we ended up back at Monica’s that same day–I tried the dress on again and finally knew it was the one.
What is your absolute favorite memory from your wedding day?
The whole day was amazing, which makes it difficult to pick just one favorite moment! But if I had to choose, I would pick our first look. We decided on the first look so that we could enjoy some private time to ourselves and really take in the day. I am SO glad we did this! He was waiting out on a little dock for me and when he turned around after I tapped his shoulder, his jaw dropped open. I felt beautiful, special and so lucky that we were getting married!
Why did you want to get your dress cleaned and preserved?
I absolutely love my wedding gown. I think it’s beautiful and I want to keep it in the best condition possible!
Why did you decide to get your gown cleaned by a member of the Association of Wedding Gown Specialists?
It had gotten so dirty around the bottom (since we had an outdoor ceremony), so I needed it cleaned in a way that would permanently remove the stains. I had just moved to Birmingham and was skeptical about taking it to a cleaner that I wasn’t familiar with. I was seriously considering driving it back to Chattanooga just to be cleaned! However, when I was looking for a cleaner in Birmingham, I found Champion Cleaners. After reading great reviews and learning about how they were a member of the Association of Wedding Gown Specialists, I figured I would not find anyone else more qualified or trustworthy to clean my dress. After talking with Ric, I left it to be cleaned and didn’t think anything else about it. I knew I didn’t need to be worried about my dress. They returned it to me beautiful and clean!
