When was your wedding and where did it take place?
We got married on June 4th, 2014 at Chateau De Chantilly, right outside of Paris, France.

How long did it take you to plan your wedding?
We were engaged for about 16 months, and we knew we wanted to have a destination wedding right from the beginning.  Originally, we had planned on a venue in Italy, but realized it just wasn’t right for us after we had visited.  So we had to start the planning process over again a few months later, and decided on Chantilly as soon as we laid eyes on the venue.  We happened to come upon Chantilly as a tourist stop after visiting another potential venue earlier in the day, so it was definitely meant to be!

When did you know that your wedding gown was “the one”?
I got my Danielle Caprese wedding gown at Kleinfeld Bridal in New York City.  I knew my gown was the one after trying on other gowns after it.  At first, I was a bit unsure about the gown as I thought it was beautiful, but a bit plain.  But the more I kept trying on other gowns, the more I kept coming back to this one.  I wanted to feel like a princess with a full skirt and a long train and the lace just added to the classic, vintage look I was aiming for.  I finally realized it was the perfect choice once I found the right beading to add to it, giving it my own custom touch.

What is your absolute favorite memory from your wedding day?
My favorite memory was our first look.  The morning was very hectic and there was even a bit of unexpected rain, but the moment of our first look felt so calm and beautiful with just me and my future husband, ready to face our future (and guests!) together.

Why did you want to have your gown cleaned and preserved?
I wanted to preserve my gown for all future possibilities. I would love to wear it again if I could create an opportunity, and I’d like to have it available for my future children to at least see. It feels like a very special memento.

Why did you decided to bring your gown to a member of the Association of Wedding Gown Specialists?
I am new to the area, so had to rely on the excellent reviews for Wedding Gown Care Specialist for a recommendation.  The team there far exceeded my expectations!!  I worked with Sarah who was very friendly, helpful and thorough.  She explained the process and very carefully examined my gown, pointing out any inconsistencies so that I knew the exact condition before I left it with her.  She gave me an estimate of the time frame on the cleaning and preserving process, as well as an invoice with the total charges, and I was pleased with the reasonable cost.

The process was just as simple and comforting when I arrived to pick up the gown– she showed me how to periodically fluff it up and explained that if I needed the gown pressed for future potential wear or have any concerns, not only was Wedding Gown Care Specialist available, but there is an entire network (the Association of Wedding Gown Specialists) throughout the country and Canada so that even if I move again, I can always feel confident about the care of my gown.
