Brianna’s Wedding Dress Preservation in Maine
Brianna got married in a beautiful Romona Keveza gown at her family’s apple orchard in Maine last summer. The orchard was the perfect setting and provided enough space for all 200 of her wedding guests. Read more about her wedding and dress in our Q&A below!
When was your wedding day and where was it held?
Patrick and I got married on August 17, 2013 at my family’s apple orchard (Romac Orchards) in Acton, Maine. The reception was held 15 minutes away on the lawn of my parents’ house on Mousam Lake.
When did you know that your wedding dress was “the one”?
I got my Romona Keveza wedding gown at Madeline’s Daugther bridal shop in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. As soon as I tried it on, I immediately knew it was “the one”! It had the incredible comfort, elegant and lightweight feel I was looking for. When I also saw the positive and tear-filled reactions from my mom and sister-in-law, I knew this one was truly special. Unlike most brides, I didn’t even bother trying on any other dresses. I bought it that very same day and never looked back. It was absolutely perfect!
What is your favorite memory from your wedding day?
It was SUCH an unbelievably amazing day–I have so many memories! But one that sticks out in particular? Patrick and I (along with our entire bridal party) boarded a pontoon boat at a friend’s house down the lake at the reception. We had a little dance party on the boat ride over, which was such an awesome way to enjoy our first few moments as husband and wife. As we rounded the corner to my parents’ cove for a grand entrance to our reception, we were greeted by all 200 of our guests wildly cheering us on. It was an amazing and unforgettable sight!
Why did you want to get your wedding gown cleaned or preserved?
I plan to sell it because I’d really love for another bride to enjoy it as much as I did. Even if it doesn’t sell, I just wanted to make sure that it was properly cared for and preserved so I can hold on to it for a long time.
Why did you decide to get your wedding dress cleaned by a member of the Association of Wedding Gown Specialists?
I was intent on doing my research this time around because back in high school, I had a horrible experience with a prom dress I had dropped off at a local cleaners (the dress came back ruined). I wasn’t about to take the same chance with my beloved wedding gown! So in researching local places that specialized in cleaning wedding gowns, Pratt Abbott Cleaners was highly reviewed in my area.
And I have to say, I have been incredibly impressed with Angela and Pratt Abbott Cleaners. It is certainly more than a drop-off cleaning center. The attention to detail, communication, and additional services offered were way beyond my expectations. I can’t say enough good things about them!!
