Anna’s Wedding Gown Preservation in California
Bride Anna, who is from Russia, and her groom, who is from France, hosted a beautiful wedding that honored both of their hometown traditions, while also incorporating their new traditions that they’ve taken on from now living in the U.S.! She trusted her Trish Lee gown in the hands of the specialists at GreenStreets Cleaners in California where she knew it would be carefully cleaned and preserved. Check out the beautiful photos of her France wedding and more on her big day in our Q&A below!
When was your wedding and where did it take place?
My wedding was on September 26th, 2015 and it was held in Metz, France at Domaine Grange Aux Ormes. Metz is the hometown of my husband. We are both from two different countries, he is from France and I am from Russia, and we now reside in the U.S. This was a challenge for us—to combine traditions of 3 different countries into our wedding, but we did it! Our guests came from all over the world. We respected wedding traditions of both Russia and France. We even made something similar to the Russian bread for the wedding! 🙂
When did you know that your wedding gown was “the one”?
I was looking for a lightweight lace dress, but couldn’t find what I wanted. I also didn’t realize that in the U.S., brides usually buy their dresses a year before their wedding. In some European countries it is very different; brides usually buy their dress a few months or even weeks before their wedding. Most of the stores in Europe also carry multiple sizes to make alterations fast. I came to the Trish Lee Bridal boutique in San Francisco very frustrated that I wouldn’t be able to find a gown…but when I saw this dress, I quickly understood—it was exactly what I wanted! It only needed a few modifications, but Trish accommodated, of course. 🙂
What is your absolute favorite memory from your wedding day?
Just the memory of this beautiful day is already my favorite memory 🙂 I remember the eyes of my then-future husband when he saw me in the dress for the first time—he looked truly amazed! The dance during the reception is also a great memory. We danced slow rumba… it was very sensational…
Why did you want to get your gown cleaned and preserved?
I got my gown cleaned and preserved because I wanted to preserve this memory. My mum never had a real wedding dress and she always regretted it. So I want my kids and grandkids to see my dress, and of course look at it myself from time to time 🙂
Why did you decide to get your gown cleaned by a member of the Association of Wedding Gown Specialists?
I went to GreenStreets Cleaners after Trish from Trish Lee Bridal recommended them. Since my dress is very fragile I decided that I needed a service that I could trust and I trust Trish’s advice.
