My gown was designed by Hayley Paige purchased at Matina’s Bridal in Woodmere, Ohio.

When did you know that your gown was “the one”?
I went to a Hayley Paige trunk show with my mom and my sister at Matina’s Bridal shop in Woodmere, Ohio. I tried on at least five other gowns that day alone. When I tried on my dress I felt like Cinderella and I knew that it was “the one”.

What is your absolute favorite memory from your wedding day?
Everything about the whole day is my favorite memory from my wedding day! I felt so loved and the joy and happiness from the day was overwhelming. My absolute favorite memory from the day was seeing my husband for the first time that day. We had a “first look” prior to the ceremony and were both so overcome with emotion. I will always remember that moment.

Why did you want to get the gown cleaned and preserved?
My wedding dress is very special to me. It is probably the most beautiful piece of clothing I will ever wear. It was my wedding day gift from my parents. After my wedding day, I left the dress hanging it a closet at my house. Almost a year after my wedding, I went to look at the dress, and noticed it was yellowing in places. I realized I didn’t want the dress to deteriorate, possibly beyond repair. I feel much better now the dress is boxed and preserved. If I ever have a daughter or other family member who would like to wear my gown, it will be ready and waiting.

What made the wedding ceremony feel extra special?
I think the dress itself was a very special part of the day! Another special part of the day was that as a last-minute surprise, my mom booked a horse and carriage for me to pull up to the ceremony for my big entrance. Right after the ceremony my new husband and I got to go for a short horse and carriage ride together.

“Our wedding cake is also something I will always remember. It was incredibly beautiful and equally tasty! Sweet Grace Anna’s in Chardon, Ohio made our wedding cake. Not long after our wedding, the bakery was featured on the Food Network — the show Cake Wars — and they were the winners! They ended up being featured on the show a second time as well!”

“The love from the day probably stood out more than anything though!”

Why did you decide to get the gown cleaned by a member of the Association of Wedding Gown Specialists?
When I decided I wanted to get my gown cleaned, I started doing some research online regarding the subject. I did not want to send my dress away to be cleaned in the mail. I read wonderful reviews for Kimmel’s Cleaners online and realized they were within driving distance from my home. I got in contact with Kimmel’s Cleaners and scheduled an appointment to meet with them. I loved them right away. They are a locally owned and operated company. They provide personal and professional care and attention to their clients and when I left I knew my gown was in good hands.
